“A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.” – Wayne Gretzky
One of the many jobs of our CMO, Allison Mosca, is to look at the broad industry to determine “where the puck is going to be” to help guide our acquisitions of portfolio companies. We are seeking revenue growth, after all, revenue is how our monthly royalty distributions are calculated.
Allison was recently featured in Beauty Independent’s 2026 skincare trends report. Drawing from her experience scaling consumer brands, Allison shared her perspective on the forces shaping skincare in 2026. She points to a pivotal moment for the category, as skincare continues to move toward longevity, more intentional routines, and science-backed innovation.

At Fundamental Brands, this kind of forward-looking perspective shapes how we evaluate our investment opportunities, invest in R&D, and support our portfolio companies—keeping us aligned with where the category is headed and how enduring brands are built.
Allison’s “where the puck is going” perspective is underscored by Estee Lauder’s earnings report, which shows sustained growth specifically in skincare. With Amala Beauty as our first portfolio company (of three with more on the way), we’re actively executing on this vision, positioning both the company and our investors to benefit from these industry tailwinds.
How Our Monthly Royalty Distributions Work
We don’t ask investors to wait for profits to receive distributions. Our royalty distributions are contractually set and calculated based on the amount invested:
– Targeting monthly annualized distributions capped at 20%, with an 8% annualized minimum.
– Paid monthly, not quarterly or annually.
– Based on the revenue1 generated by our growing portfolio of companies, NOT profits.
